Pranic Pull-Downs
Reach for a Pranic Tonic

|

Prana, or life force, is a key component in any yoga practice. We like to think of prana as the subtle energy behind the air that we breathe or the foods that we eat. According to yogic wisdom, prana allows the body to maintain vitality and regulate its essential functions.

Pranayama (breathing exercises) works to enhance our capacity to regulate and stimulate this pranic life force as it moves through our body. What does that mean for you? Well, instead of ordering that triple non-fat vanilla latte or grabbing a sugary snack when your energy is sacked, you can reach for a pranic tonic - and best of all its FREE at available anytime, anywhere.

Tutorial
Stand and plant your feet a little wider than hip distance apart. Bend your knees slightly and feel yourself really rooted into the earth.
  • Make your hands into fists, and bend your forearms so that your fists are in front of the shoulders. Keep your elbows close to your ribs.
  • Inhale through the nose and reach your Left arm straight up and out about 60 degrees. The hand opens up, as if you were reaching to grab something.
  • Exhale powerfully and pull your elbow back down into the starting position, as if you we're literally pulling energy into your body.
  • Repeat this exact same move with the Right Arm.
  • Alternate sides for 1-3 minutes. Breathe powerfully, but don't hyperventilate.

    Pointers
  • If you get light headed or dizzy, slow the breath down and breathe normally.
  • Use your navel center to forcefully exhale, pulling the navel towards your spine. Focus on your exhale, and the inhale will come naturally.
